Conservation - Save Wild Salmon

Conservation is something that is very important to me. Being a father, husband and full time artist I'm always trying to improve on be a good example. Striving to be conservation minded and think about what the future holds has always been in the back of my mind. Over the past few years, I had the opportunity to create several designs and illustrations used for conservation.

The Save Wild Salmon illustration was a simple line drawing for Red River co.

Red river co. helps raise awareness for Salmon and Steelhead. All of the proceeds to back into conservation efforts!

Its was a pleasure working with Rachel at Red River Co. on this project and knowing that my art is helping with Salmon and Steelhead efforts.

Here's a Rachel's kind review of my efforts on this project:

My name is Rachel Brinkley, and I am the founder and owner of Redd River Co., a small retail company with the mission of raising money and awareness for salmon and steelhead recovery in Idaho.

Stacey Barker of Barking goat studios graciously donated an illustration in 2021 that we used on hats with a clear message - “Save Wild Salmon’.

With this donation we have raised thousands of dollars for salmon and steelhead recovery, allowing us to support groups like Salmon Source to Sea, Youth Salmon Protectors, and Idaho Conservation League.

Aside from the fundraising, we aimed to create merchandise that inspired people across the Pacific Northwest to display a clear message that Wild Salmon are in trouble, and that we need to take action.

Because of Stacey’s illustration donation, over 600 people are wearing Save Wild Salmon hats and inspiring conversation and action across the US and Canada.
